CHAN Hiu Yan

Chan Hiu Yan graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in Acting. During her studies, she participated in artistic exchanges at Shanghai Theatre Academy and National Taipei University of the Arts. She attended a musical theatre master class at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, guided by instructors Neil Rutherford and Eddie Gower. Additionally, she took part in a musical theatre vocal workshop in South Korea, instructed by Shin Haeji. She has received the Cheung Ho Lam Memorial Scholarship and the Wong Cho Lam "Cool Water" Scholarship. Currently, she is pursuing a Master's degree in Drama Education at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and has served as the Education Development Officer for the musical group Musical Trio at the Hong Kong Arts Festival.

 

Recent performances include the musical 《少年神農的搖滾獨白》, a reading of 《凶的空間》 with the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, 《乒乓男兒》 by Theatre Equation, the Ukrainian reading festival 2022 《皮毛》, and the drama group 7A's 《今年初雪，把失戀完結！》. On-campus performances include the musical 《最好先生，Charlie Brown!》, 《穿Kenzo的女人》, and 《青春的覺醒》 (Hong Kong and Shanghai versions), among others. She has also appeared in films such as the Taiwanese movie 《我在這裡等你》, 《飯戲攻心2》, 《一人婚禮》, and 《深宵閃避球》.

 

In January 2023, she officially debuted as a singer with her single release. That same year, she was nominated for the "Chill Club Recommendation List Annual Recommendation 22/23" as Best New Female Artist. She also participated in the variety show 《好想大聲說愛你嘅呢》 and composed and performed the show's theme song. In 2024, she transitioned to an independent singer-songwriter, releasing her solo single 《懶氣》 .
