Izumi is a freelance flute player based in Hong Kong. Born in Japan, Izumi studied in Kagoshima junior college (Kagoshima International University), Royal Academy of Music, L’ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, and HKAPA. Izumi was an orchestra player as a former assistant principal flute of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and a former acting flute/piccolo of Hong Kong Sinfonietta.

Izumi has also played with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Macao Orchestra, the Norrkoping Symphony Orchestra (SON), The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, and Hong Kong New Music Ensemble etc..

However, her interests are not confined to classical music. She works with both classical/non-classical musicians. Recently, she performed with Hong Kong Episodes Ensemble, Ensemble Transience. As a studio musician, doing some recordings such as movie music, pop music etc.
Izumi sometimes plays music without her flute, appeared as a reggae keyboard player of Sensi Lion at HKIRSF, Clockenflap in 2018 & Freespace Happening. Izumi formed a tribal fusion band, “Mizu-æ°´-“ in July, 2019. Mizu-æ°´- had a debut performance at freespace jazz fest in November, 2019.
